报告人简介:
薛红卫研究员是我校杰出校友,他1991年毕业于上海bevictor伟德官网生物学专业,获理学学士;1996年于中国科学院上海植物生理研究所获博士学位,1996-1998年在德国马普分子植物生理研究所从事博士后研究。1998年入选中国科学院“百人计划”,2004年获“国家杰出青年科学基金”,2013年入选科技部“中青年科技创新领军人才”。 2009年-2014年任中国科学院上海植物生理生态研究所所长,现担任植物分子遗传国家重点实验室主任,并担任EMBO Reports、Cell Research、Plant Physiololy、Mol Plant、Biochemical J等同领域重要期刊的编委。他的研究方向为植物激素作用及种子发育调控机制,重点研究植物激素(生长素、油菜素内酯)信号传导机制及其调控植物生长发育的机理;植物磷酯酰肌醇信号途径及磷脂分子的生理功能及与其他信号途径互作的机制;水稻种子发育的遗传和表观遗传调控机制。在植物甾类激素作用、生长素极性运输调控、激素信号转导重要调控因子的分离、以及水稻种子发育和品质调控机制等方面做出了系统性工作,迄今已在The Plant Cell、EMBO J、Development、Cell Research等国际重要学术刊物发表论文近60篇,主编专著两部,并应邀在Current Opinion of Plant Biology 撰写多篇综述。他先后承担了国家973、863和自然科学基金委、中国科学院、上海市的多项研究任务,作为首席科学家主持了“植物胚乳发育及储藏物质累积的分子调控机制研究”973重大研究计划项目。获上海市自然科学奖二等奖、上海市科技进步奖二等奖,“中国青年科技奖”(2006年)等。
 
报告内容简介:
Rice is the main food source for Asian people and characterization of the regulatory networks of rice seed development will help to improve rice seed yield/quality. We have focused on the rice seed development regulation through transcriptional and epigenetics control. Through systemic studies, we have obtained the transcriptomes of developing seeds and analysis showed that multiple family genes are involved in rice seed development, especially those involved in metabolism regulation, hormone response and cellular organization processes. We also studied the DNA methylation dynamics of developing embryo and endosperm to investigate how epigenetic control is involved in rice seed development. The results showed that DNA methylation is crucial for seed development, as well as the starch metabolism through modulating transcriptions of target genes.
Many transcription factors are highly expressed and/or regulated during seed development, which was further functionally analyzed. Transcription factors regulating early endosperm development or starch metabolism are identified. The updated progresses will be presented.
