报告摘要:Conventional B cell compartment comprise marginal zone (MZ) B cells, and follicular (FO) B cells. Both of them reside in a defined microanatomical anlage that is critical for their distinct functions. MZ B cells that situated in a site of high blood flow, operate as the innate-like lymphocytes by quickly producing antibodies against the T-independent antigen from the circulation. FO B cells, the major B cells population, located adjacent to T cell zone in secondary lymphoid organs and react to the T-dependent antigen. The activated B cells then move into B cell follicles and establish the germinal center (GC), where cells obtain the affinity maturation and become memory B cells or plasma cells. We describe here that an extracellular matrix molecule, laminin 5, which is enriched in the basement membranes of the sinus lining endothelium of MZ and FO, has impacts on both MZ B cell and germinal center B cell.
